T-POTS

The T-pots started out as exercises for me in the physical aspect of
glass forming. I felt burned out on the Color Field series at the time
and needed to break away from blowing forms with so much going
on with the surface decoration. I wanted to work on complex shapes
to see how far I could push my abilities as a glassblower.

I chose the T-pot form because I liked the idea of taking the numerous
basic elements, changing the shapes and scale, and juxtaposing these
shapes on a single piece. T he combination of elements is endless, but
the end result becomes one unified form. I found this to be an interesting
challenge. I worked on this series between 2001 and 2003. I doubt I'll ever
wander back to the T-pots, but they were a lot of fun to make.
